Continually referenced among the most desirable places to live in the UK, Cheshire is at the heart of family living in the North West. It encompasses larger areas like Warrington and Chester, and is in commutable distance to Manchester, Liverpool and North-Wales respectively.

With a buoyant property market, and smaller towns like Altrincham and Knutsford listed amid the best places to live the North West, Cheshire villages have become sought-after areas for family homes.

Whether you want to admire the beautiful views from Beeston Castle or be close to the Welsh seaside for a family outing, Cheshire is proving to be an ideal place to live.

Why Cheshire?

A survey by Rightmove crowned Cheshire as the third happiest place to live in the UK, and it’s not difficult to see why. The people of Cheshire are among the most joyful in the North West, thanks to the county’s mixed offering of vibrant towns and quaint villages.

Cheshire isn’t short of diversity, with each area offering something unique. Whether you would prefer to live in a town full of vibrant local amenities or be in a small village with a close-knit, local community, there really is something for everyone.

Cheshire residents also reap the benefits of excellent transport links. Ideally situated close to major motorways – the M56, M62 and M6 – makes commuting very easy. Residents can get to Liverpool and Manchester in under an hour. There are also conveniently placed rail routes that reach London in under two hours.

Such straightforward travel routes make Cheshire ideal for avoiding those tedious commutes, as well as enjoying those exciting weekend trips.

Cheshire is the perfect setting for family days out. Weekends and school holidays will be crammed with excitement thanks to the array of places to explore, including thrilling adventure parks and wonderful green spaces.

If you’re looking for thrill-seeking sport, visit Delamere Forest, where you can embark on a cycling trail through the trees, or take a walk on the wild side at Teggs Nose Country Park, which is home to an abundance of wildlife animals.

Another jewel in Cheshire’s crown is the high-achieving schools. Altrincham is home to some of the best performing establishments in the North West, including Altrincham Grammer School for Girls, which is ranked the number one state secondary school in the region. To complement this, there are 13 schools within a three-mile radius of Altrincham rated outstanding by Ofsted.

For further education, there is Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College in Northwich, which is named as the second highest achieving sixth form college in the country, with over 1,000 students achieving the top grades at A-level.

It’s no surprise that Cheshire is our favourite county in the North West, which is why we complete so many of our projects here. We’re extremely excited by the progress of our newest development in Holmes Chapel, where we’re bringing six prestigious family homes to a thriving village in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.
