The kitchen often finds itself as the heart of the home and trends within this space are constantly evolving. Without compromising on the functionality of the space we all want a stylish and luxurious kitchen. A place to cook, eat and entertain, which effortlessly ties in with the aesthetic of the whole home.

At Altin, we’ve been thinking a lot about kitchens lately as, not only are the kitchens installed in homes at Waterbank, but our Altrincham office also now has its own Zampieri kitchen. This new showroom kitchen is designed and installed to mirror those in place at Waterbank.

The Segni collection from Zampieri – designed by Stefano Cavazzana – combines tall units in Eucalipto strip wood panels with floating stone and porcelain island in Jasper Moka, with low plinth lines combined with vertical and horizontal grooved handles in matching finishes.

While these kitchens offer a stylish and functional base, there’s always trends and tips to look out for to make. Your new kitchen your own…

Smart storage solutions

Intelligent storage is the solution to kitchen clutter this summer. Breakfast pantries and smart drawer inserts are a reoccurring trend. Regardless of the size of your kitchen, we can all incorporate innovative ways to store kitchen appliances when not in use and free up kitchen surface space.

An island is the perfect centrepiece in any kitchen and has a multi-functional purpose. As well as using an island to incorporate a breakfast bar, cupboards and drawers on either side can help increase storage space. With the clutter gone, the stylish design of your kitchen can shine.

Inviting the outdoors in

Wooden touches are back, not just for rustic kitchens, but for contemporary kitchens too. Summer 2023 is all about a natural twist on the usual contemporary kitchen. Embracing natural materials such as wood reduces the drama of a bold kitchen scheme with sharp, contemporary finishes, but still gives an impressive impact. Seamlessly integrating the beauty of the outdoors into your home, wooden textures are perfect for kitchens with views of the summer greenery.

The light-coloured woods in our Waterbank homes, Zampieri-designed, kitchens contrast with the sleek, glossy flooring and work surfaces to create a match made in interior heaven.

Without detracting from the luxurious feel of the design, the wood texture enhances a homely and inviting environment.

Less is more

A minimalistic aesthetic is as hot as the summer weather itself right now. Glass and wood containers rather than plastic are the perfect way to keep regularly needed appliances, foods, or herbs on the kitchen worktops, without them looking cluttered.

These containers will also help grow a more sustainable lifestyle with less plastic waste, as they are refillable. Another bonus is that the low price of these handy kitchen additions means that you can achieve a luxury style for less.

A minimalistic aesthetic does not mean that the attention to detail in a kitchen must be non-existent. Drawing inspiration from its birthplace, the Zampieri-designed kitchens in our Waterbank homes are highly detailed by the art of Italian craftsmanship. Simplicity should never compromise on an intricate luxury finish of the kitchen design.

Let the light in

Inviting natural light into your space is always a summer favourite for kitchen trends. Open-plan designs breathe more space into the kitchen to enable light to flow effortlessly through the room.

Floor-to-ceiling windows, such as those in our Waterbank homes, allow maximum natural light and invite the idyllic views of the nature surrounding the River Bollin, inside the homes. Welcoming naturalistic scenery into the home develops a sense of indoor-outdoor living, which is perfect for summer.
